Class Description:
This course fulfills a General Written Communication Requirement. It focuses on writing as a process of thinking, as well as a mode of expression and communication. Writing will be presented as an integral aspect of critical thinking, reading and learning and will therefore be a pervasive activity in this class.
We will explore and practice the writing processes such as invention, revision, organization, perfecting our work through multiple drafts, editing and adjusting for rhetorical contexr. We wil dicuss and share writing and reading with one another and develop a rhetorical vocabulary for talking and writing.
The course requires reflective writing about the intersection of cultural criticism, historical writing and contemporary media, to be able to work across other disciplines. We will also explore responses to the Arts.
